His Way With Thee

I know this isn't a "photography" post, but I felt led to share anyway. I discovered this beautiful hymn in an old Methodist hymnal tonight.

Valentine's Day blooms from Mom & Dad

"His Way With Thee"

"Would you live for Jesus, and be always pure and good?
Would you walk with Him within the narrow road?
Would you have Him bear your burden, carry all your load?
Let Him have His way with thee.

His pow'r can make you what you ought to be;
His blood can cleanse your heart and make you free;
His love can fill your soul, and you will see
'Twas best for Him to have His way thee.

Would you have Him make you free, and follow at His call?
Would you know the peace that comes by giving all?
Would you have Him save you, so that you need never fall?
Let Him have His way with thee.

Would you in His kingdom find a place of constant rest?
Would you prove Him true in providential test?
Would you in His service labor always at your best?
Let Him have His way with thee.

His pow'r can make you what you ought to be;
His blood can cleanse your heart and make you free;
His love can fill your soul, and you will see
'Twas best for Him to have His way with thee. Amen."

Thanks for departing from your posting of photographs to include Nusbaum's hymn, "His Way with Thee." As I write this, today is the anniversary of his birth.

As a photographer back in the Dark Ages (we did things for television when there was no colour TV!), and having just retired from 40 years of pastoral ministry and Bible college teaching... [this sentence is getting too long :-)]

Anyway, what I wanted to say is there is beauty in both, and they can compliment one another. What about producing a series of posters which include a stanza of one of the great hymns of the faith. (I'd sure buy them!)

God bless.

What a wonderful idea, Robert! I just fell in love with the lyrics of this hymn and couldn't believe I had never known the hymn before.
